Iceland: Some Helpful Booking Info

AirBnB – We used this site to find the apartment we stayed at. Highly recommend it. We rented this apartment from this very lovely lady named Björt.

Iceland Air – The airline we used to get to Iceland. You will fly into Keflavik which is situated about 45 minutes from Reykjavik. There are shuttle busses that take you to the central bus station in Reykjavik.

Flybus – The bus service we used to take us to Reykjavik from the airport in Keflavik. Cost 1950 ISK per person. The bus departs from Keflavík Airport right outside the terminal building 35-40 minutes after each flight arrival and leaves from BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavík 2 1/2 hours before each flight departure from Keflavik Airport. When leaving Iceland, we stopped at the Blue Lagoon on the way to the airport. You can get a bus ticket that includes the stop at the Blue Lagoon and the cost of entry.

Blue Lagoon – A geothermal spa, one of the most visited attractions in Iceland, that is located about 13km from Keflavik Airport. Would suggest stopping here on the way to the airport as you can get a bus ticket that includes a stop here and the cost of entry.

Golden Circle Bus Tour – A guided bus tour of some of the best-known natural phenomena in Iceland, including Þingvellir national park, the great Geysir area, Gullfoss waterfall and more.

Arctic Adventures – This is the outfit we used to plan our horseback riding trip and our glacier hike. Our guides were named Brett and Valdi. They were awesome. If you can request them, I would suggest it.

Horseback Riding Adventure – Full day horse riding tour to the hot springs in Reykjadalur Valley, about 40 minutes from Reykjavík – 15.900ISK per person. Includes pick up and lunch.

Blue Ice Glacier Hike – Glacier Hiking & Ice Climbing Day Tour from Reykjavík to Sólheimajökull Glacier on Iceland´s South Coast – 15.990 ISK per person. With pick-up: 19.990 ISK per person. Add 1000 ISK each to rent hiking boots, waterproof jacket and/or pants.
